Welcome to the Hunt FFA Website! This site was started to help promote agriculture & FFA throughout our school, chapter, community, and nation. We are glad that you guys have decided to stop by and take a peek at what we are busy doing. We hope that you enjoy our vast array of activities, pictures and information that can be found. Please look around and also feel free to write on our message board and let us know how we're doing. Thanks for visiting!!
Over the past years, the Hunt FFA has grown and improved to be the absolute best chapter around. Throughout the year, we have been working our butt off to provide a great time for our members, and a better communittee for those around us.
In the fall semester of 2007, we held FFA chapter meetings, did some communittee service projects, and had an absolute ball! We also competed in events such as Dairy Judging & Poultry Judging.
As winter was coming to an end and spring drew closer, many competitions, National FFA Week, and chapter meetings were abroad. National FFA Week was an absolute blast as we raised nearly $100 from our pie-throwing contest, and our chapter meeting was a success as well. Competitions were held at Federation and Regional Rally, as well as throughout the state. And our chapter meetings, well they were extremely fun and everyone had a terrific time!
So with last year coming to a close, there is nothing to get upset about my friend. There is SOOOOOOO much to do this coming year. Your new officers have already began planning the fun times to come. We have the best meeting planned, a halloween surprise, and many ways to get involved in your communittee. We look forward to seeing you soon!!!
The Hunt FFA Chapter is sure to be on the move over our summer!! We will be traveling to Raleigh, NC during the days of June 23 through the 25 to be competitive in many subjects. Many CDEs competed that competed on the regional levels are advancing to state level competitions - Floriculture, Intro to Hort, and many more... We will also have OTHER competitions - Food Science, Meat Science, Dairy Foods and more. All are being led by our wonderful advisors, Mr. Dudley & Ms. Landrie! We are super pumped and well on our way to achieving greatness!!
Also this summer, Hunt will be traveling to good ole White Lake in Elizabeth Town, NC for Rec Camp! There will be tons of fun and tons of friends!! We are surely looking forward to another successful year of competitions, too! Waterball, canoeing, swim-offs, and much more!! Rec Camp at White Lake will be July 6-10! We know you can hardly wait!!
Over the summer, our newly elected officer team will be hard at work planning out the best for a new school year! We are so ready to get started working with you guys and hearing your opinions. Please feel free at any time to comment or make suggestions on our message board. Thanks for all your support!!
Our past events, such as our past chapter meetings, pictures from years past, competition scores, and even older newsletters are posted on the archive page, found on the upper right side of this page. Please visit our site and let us know what you think about it and also our program at our message board, found in the left side bar on this page. On our message board you are capable of seeing what others have posted about us and our program, and even submit your own ideas to help us out a little. Your efforts keep us going!!
We have a page set up especially for National Convention (and other such events) on our
Archive Page. We hope that you will take the time to view what we had the privelage to see while being away from campus throughout this year, and previous years. We had a very sucessful year this year, and look forward to another successful and eventful year!

For more upcoming events, check back with the website and also take a peek at our bulletin board down the 300 hall to see what all the FFA has in store for you! This year is going to be such an exciting year! We look forward to seeing you guys at our fun events and community outreach programs as well!

This year, 24 students and our two FFA advisors went to the 80th North Carolina State FFA Convention at NC State University on June 24-26th, 2oo8.
We had many members competing in events from floriculture to job interview, and we did very well. We also had 4 FFA delegates participating in formal FFA business.
We got awards, too. 100% Membership, 24 members recieving their state FFA degrees, Gold Star National Chapter, and many members recieving awards for their outstanding SAE projects.
State convention is a fun way for FFA members from across the state to get to know one another and fellowship. Also, the State FFA Officers are installed as the former officers retire. There are many leadership events that go on, as well as inspirational speeches that are given. If you are interested in joining us next year, please contact Mr. Dudley or Mrs. Landrie.
Many Hunt FFA members made a splash at the NC FFA Rec. Camp. Rec. camp is held each year at White Lake, NC in June. At camp, members compete in many sporting events such as softball, basketball, volleyball, waterball, soccer, tug-of-war, ping pong, putt putt, horseshoes, shuffleboard, swimming, canoeing, track and field, and even checkers!! Members also experienced team-building sessions, talent shows, a camp social, they met many new people from across the state, and enjoyed the historical White Lake FFA Center. Click here for pictures of all the fun we had.

Every year in Hunt's Ag. Classes, both beginner and advanced, there is always something being built, and in the Horticultural Classes are constantly growing beautiful plants for their Fall and Spring Plant sells to raise money for the FFA. In the Fall 2oo7 Hunt High School Agricultural Mechanics II - Metal Fabrication class they completed a 6' X 10' utility trailer with an axle rating of 3,500 lbs. The trailer will be sold to benefit the Hunt FFA Chapter in upcoming opportunities. Click here to view pictures of this project from start to finish. In the spring, we will have pictures of the beautiful arrangements of flowers that will be for sale.

On June 2, 2008, the Hunt FFA chapter held its 3rd annual banquet. Many people made their appearance, including those from Carolina Landscapes, to all of our administration staff, to many members and their parents. Many members received awards for their accomplishments throughout the year. This year we also had many members recieved their state FFA degrees, almost 30!! We also recieved 100% membership, for the second year in a row, as well as gold star national chapter. Many accomplishments were celebrated this year, and there will be many more in the future. We have already started practicing for our competitions to prepare for the very best. Next year, you better be prepared for the best!!

Wilson County Fair!
This year was the 75th year of the Wilson County Fair. The Hunt FFA worked hard in many competitions - ranging from a first place fair booth, to tractor/truck competitions, to livestock shows. In the tractor/truck driving competition, Marno Erardi won first place in truck driving and will advance to the state competition in February. Also, Tyler Lamm came in 2nd place in the tractor driving competition. Abby Ricketts had the Grand Champion Reserve Chicken, and Maggie Earle, Amanda Aycock, Allison Dunn, and Allyson Brake competed in the livestock show and sale.
Our
fair booth also won 1st place overall in the fair booth exhibit section. We are all very proud of all our FFA participants. Congratulations!!!
